Hi, I'm Andrea Lattanzi, Founder and CEO
I've never been one to follow the crowd. As a Gen-Xer who always felt a little out of place in "normal circles," I spent most of my life resisting trends and breaking rules whenever I could get away with it. It took me a while to realize I was just a nonconformist at heart and honestly, I'm fine with that.
Going Off-Grid
Growing up in New Hampshire with parents who landed somewhere on the hippie scale, I learned early on that different was good. The summer I turned five, we lived in a tent while my parents built a log cabin in the Maine woods. We bathed in Lemon Stream, cooked dinner by kerosene lamplight, and lived completely off-grid before that was even a word.
Now or Never
In my early 20s I felt that the world was in trouble and that I shared in a responsibility to do something about it. So for the next 17 years, I threw myself into working for a humanitarian non-profit (and in that first year I met and married my amazing husband). But as my late thirties rolled around, we faced that "now or never" moment about having a baby. At 41, our daughter Jade finally graced us with her presence. I’d always thought I’d have at least 3 kids, but alas she was our one miracle child!
When maternity leave ended, the thought of dropping her off at daycare just broke my heart. So I did what any recovering rule breaker would do—I quit my job and started a skincare company within a year. Bella Jade was formed, named for our daughter Jade and honoring my husband's Italian heritage.
Back then, in 2014, "natural and organic" skincare felt a bit revolutionary, which is funny because when I was growing up in the '70s and '80s, there was no distinction to make. You never even thought about it everything just was what it was. But after having a baby, I began to pay a lot more attention to what I was putting in and on my family’s bodies. I fell in love with the idea of creating natural, organic products that people would actually want to use every day. I thoroughly enjoy the challenge of researching and creating new products with clean, nutrient dense ingredients and without the junk and fillers most mainstream brands use.
So here we are—a small, family-run business, producing our skincare here in Florida. Our new tallow line is freshly hand crafted in small batches with minimal but powerful ingredients. No fillers, no synthetic fragrances, no harsh chemicals. Just the good stuff your skin deserves. I also believe that skincare can and should be one of those small pleasures you can indulge in through texture, scent and aesthetics.
We keep our packaging simple and earth-friendly whenever possible, to keep costs down. And I’ll let you in on a little secret, with most “high-end” skincare the packaging costs more than the actual ingredients! We'd rather invest our budget where it matters—into high quality ingredients you can trust.
Welcome to Bella Jade—where we're still breaking the rules, just in the best way possible. We hope you love using our products as much as we love creating them.
So if you're a fellow nonconformist or rule breaker, come join us! Follow us on your favorite social to stay connected and be part of our beautifully rebellious community.
With love
(and a little rebellion),
